Phoebe Helm

Dr. Phoebe Helm served as interim superintendent president in 2007 and then superintendent president 2008-2012, where she brought over 39 yeard of experience in education 30 of which were spent serving community colleges in Tennessee, Illinois, and California. Dr. Helm retired as president of the Harry Truman College in Chicago in 2004, and from 1992-96, she served as vice chancellor for Economic Development and Vocational Education in the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. Dr. Helm earned her Ed.D. at the University of Kentucky, a master’s in education at Memphis State University, a bachelor’s of science in education at Union University and an associate’s degree at Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson Tennessee. Dr. Helm currently serves as the President and Owner of At the Helm Consulting, providing consultation to ensure student success and institutional efficiency.

Impact

Dr. Helm established the Jesse and Ellen Knight Memorial Endowed Scholarship to honor and remember her parents and their support of pursuing higher education.
