Gary Tanimura
Gary Tanimura, executive vice president at Tanimura & Antle, and director for the Tanimura Family Foundation, graduated from Hartnell College in 1969 with an Associate’s degree, then transferred to San Jose State University to earn a Bachelor’s in Business with emphasis in Marketing. Gary received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Hartnell in 2016, is a founding member of the Ag Steering Committee, was President of the Hartnell College Foundation Board, and co-chairs the Foundation’s Planned Giving Committee. Under his tenure, the Foundation launched the second phase of innovation for the Agricultural Business and Technology Institute, the Salinas Valley Health Professions Workforce Partnership and the Tanimura Family Foundation Ag Research Internship Endowment, among other important accomplishments. Gary is one of the most respected members of the community for his dedication, passion, diligence, support, and continuous contributions to higher education.
Impact
The Gary Tanimura Scholarship was established to support the academic success of students actively pursuing an Ag related degree offered by the Hartnell College’s Agricultural Business and Technology Institute.
The George Tanimura Memorial Scholarship was established to support scholarships for students participating in the Men’s Institute for Leadership and Education.
